I find this so devastating now, looking back. At the time it seemed as if he was worried about the new flesh in the world, and the world reaction and so forth. But he’s actually thinking about what he has to do next, how he is going to have to destroy Amy’s flesh avatar and how devastating it is. And the tardis, quietly humming and glowing in the background, reflecting in the window, the doctor knows the inevitable has come, and its right now. And you can tell he is thinking how can he avoid this, but he knows there is no other way, and Amy’s avatar is right next to him. completely oblivious as to whats gonna happen. He knows he needs to kill Amy’s avatar and start fighting for her and her baby. And I think the thought of the oncoming death and fighting, it kills him
